Event co-founder Cherie Cloudt, was born in Prescott, Arizona and lived on ranches all over Arizona, from the old Q Ranch in Young, the 76 Ranch in Rye, the Flying V in Valentine to the Spider Ranch outside Prescott. She has a Masters of Arts in Cultural Sustainability, is a cultural anthropologist, historical archaeologist, documentary film maker, researcher, writer, event co-coordinator, teacher of organization and management skills, and PhD candidate. Cherie wrote her master's thesis on ranching women and has been researching and writing about them for over 25 years.
Event co-founder, Sally Harper Bates is an award winning author, poet, musician and photographer. She is past event planner for the Arizona Cowboy Poets Gathering in Prescott, the Arizona Cowpuncher's Reunion and Rodeo as well as teaching many seminars and conferences.
On the board of directors is ranch born and raised, Mary Matli, who is a poet and for several years has been a performer at the Arizona Cowboy Poetry Gathering, where she also serves on the board of directors. As a writer, Mary publishes an "on line" magazine titled "Ezine" which is a quarterly publication full of her own work as well as several other writers who contribute to the magazine.
Steering Committee member Ann Atkinson is past Project Manager of domestic and international projects with $10 million budgets and teams with up to 200 members; a past board member for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Tucson, Arizona Women's Education and Employment (AWEE); Ann is now Studio Manager for Steve Atkinson Studio (www.SteveAtkinsonStudio.com); has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and was a successful entrepreneur for 7 years with management consulting firm Visiality, Inc. Ann also has numerous community volunteer activities.
